In June, 23 younger members of the Schola took to the stage to perform The Ballad of Salomon Pavey, directed by its creator, Jeremy James Taylor OBE.
Jeremy is the founder of the National Youth Music Theatre. His ballad opera is based on a true story of Chapel Royal chorister Salomon Pavey and focuses on two rival troops of boy actors in the Elizabethan era. Presented originally in 1976, it won The Scotsman Fringe First Award at The Edinburgh Fringe Festival. The production featured the original period costumes designed by Sheila Darlington, Costume Designer for the National Youth Music Theatre.
An amazing production, fantastic acting and great singing! "This boy is not sick, he's dead!" Poor Salomon Pavey!
