Schola records a new CD

The Schola has recorded a new CD in the past two weeks, a collection of music by British composers. Monday and Tuesday the choir worked at the Church of St John the Evangelist in Upper Norwood, South London and on Saturday we were in St Augustine's Church, Kilburn.

Music recorded included Britten's Rejoice in the Lamb, Elgar's Great is the Lord and works by Holst, Stanford, Parry and Howells. We were especially pleased to make the first recording of the motet Emitte Lucem Tuam which was composed for the Schola by Sir James MacMillan in 2014 to mark the 100th anniversary of the Vaughan.

The photos were taken on Saturday, as we recorded the unaccompanied music in Kilburn.

The CD will be available later in the year.
