Schola at the Royal Opera House

It has been a busy few weeks for Schola boys at the Royal Opera House, with members of the choir taking part in the new production of Wagner’s Parsifal, while soloist Kieran (pictured) has been busy appearing in the major role of Oberto in Handel’s Alcina. Meanwhile, another of our soloists, Tristan, has begun rehearsals for his role as the Shepherd Boy in ENO’s new production of Puccini’s Tosca. It is always a thrill for the boys to work at some of the world’s greatest opera houses.

We were delighted to see the Schola featured in a recent edition of The Tablet, in an article prompted by the boys’ involvement in the Royal Opera’s new production of Wagner’s Parsifal. The feature explored the life and work of the Schola, its role at the heart of the school’s musical and liturgical life, and the extraordinary range of professional opportunities enjoyed by the boys alongside their regular commitments as a liturgical choir.
