The Schola's Opera and Film work

The Schola has long established links with the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden where boys have performed in many productions over the past twenty years. In more recent years boys have also sung with English National Opera.

Productions at Covent Garden include Gloriana, Suor Angelica, Tannhäuser, Tosca, La bohemé, Billy Budd, the world premiere of Lorin Maazel's opera 1984 and Turandot. Members of the choir frequently take on solo roles at Covent Garden, including the Spirits in The Magic Flute, Shepherd Boy in Tosca, Gerardhino in Gianni Schicchi and Frog in The Cunning Little Vixen

With English National Opera, boys have appeared in Billy Budd, Tosca, Carmen, Magic Flute and La bohemé. Boys have also performed with local opera company Opera Holland Park in productions of Carmen, The Turn of the Screw, Pelléas et Mélisande and Tosca.

The Schola features on several recent film soundtracks including Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows (Part 1), Tim Burton's Dark Shadows, the Oscar winning score for Life of Pi, Paddington and Alice Through the Looking Glass. Film composers the Schola has recently worked with include Mychael Danna, James Horner and Hans Zimmer. The Schola enjoys a special relationship with Danny Eflman, having sung on several of his scores and worked live with him in concert at the Royal Albert Hall.
